Space Dragons from LA are Winners of the Dragon Boat Races on Lake Las Vegas
(The Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation was the real winner!)
Dragon Boat crews from Las Vegas and around the country were racing the 1,500 pound, 44 foot long Dragon Boats on Lake Las Vegas.
Each solid teak boat carries a full crew of 22 people that consists of 20 paddlers, 1 drummer and a steerperson.
There were many qualifying heats on the 500 meter course.
There was a moment of silence and a carnation toss into the lake in honor of the children.
The Space Dragons from Los Angeles won the Championship heat on Saturday.
