Vegas! The Show!

Producer David Saxe has done it again and recreated the way shows used to be in Las Vegas with multitudes of talent.

Vegas! The Show takes us down memory lane to a time when the shows were spectacular productions. In a town where shows come and go this entertainment masterpiece is here for a long stay at the Saxe Theater in the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile.

As the curtain rises, we meet the incredible Eric Jordan Young speaking to us from Vegas' Neon Graveyard. Dressed in janitor's garb he tells us that he is there to be sure that the past is not forgotten.

There’s the Casbah Lounge and a salute to Louis Prima and Keelie Smith. You will hear Old Black Magic and watch the talented energetic dancers “Jump Jiving”.  Tribute is paid to  the Rat Pack, Tom Jones (What’s New Pussycat), Sonny & Cher (Babe), Tina Turner (Rollin’) and of course – Elvis. No salute to old Vegas is complete without homage to Liberace.  Joseph Gabriel’s unique act features a piano playing Liberace marionette. Later, Gabriel pays tribute to the magicians of Las Vegas.  The impeccable timing and tap dancing of identical twins Sean and John Scott salutes the variety acts.

Tiger Martina has poured his spirited imaginative choreography and direction into every number honoring the performers, songs and dances including Luck Be A Lady Tonight, Hey Mambo, and Candy Man, the show-stopping tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr, complete with a high kicking chorus line. An 11 piece orchestra led by our friend, Band Leader Jerry Lopez and Musical Director Pat Caddick backs up the 40 talented performers including Reva Rice, Tara Palsha, and Tom Lowe.

Entertainer Loretta St. John attended the show with me, as well as my cousin, Jim Cangelose and his friends Jim and Marci Hill from Atlanta, Georgia who had their eleven year old daughter, Brittan, with them and we all thoroughly enjoyed the show. Loretta who was performing in Las Vegas during the eras depicted thought the show was so realistic of her memories of the “Old Las Vegas” when there was so much talent and glamour on the strip. We both agreed that this was definitely one of the best shows we had ever seen in Las Vegas and that the production was flawless. David Saxe has created a virtual masterpeice of entertainment with “Vegas! The Show!”

Loretta St. John

Loretta was an opening act for many stars, a former backup singer with Wayne Newton and with Bobby Darin, and did a world tour with the revival of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

GREG LONDON

‘NEVADA ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR’

OPENS AT THE RIVIERA HOTEL AND CASINO

MASTER MUSICAL IMPRESSIONIST

FINDS A NEW HOME IN LAS VEGAS FOR

“GREG LONDON’S ICONS – ENTERTAINING THE WORLD

ONE IMPRESSION AT A TIME”

Following His Record Breaking Two And A Half

Year Run At Harrah’s Reno, London Begins Previews

Of His Critically Acclaimed Hit Show In The Mardi Gras

Showroom June 16, With the Grand Opening

Set For Mid-July

You thought Las Vegas’ biggest coup was Garth Brooks signing on for acoustic weekends at the Wynn? Hardly. He is certainly terrific but—the country legend is just one guy!

Greg London is coming to town with scores of pop culture “ICONS,” all channeled by the master musical impressionist himself, ready to reshape the city’s entertainment landscape.

Following his record shattering two and a half year run in Sammy’s Showroom at Harrah’s Reno, the multi-talented performer—voted Nevada Magazine’s 2009 Entertainer of the Year in a reader’s poll—brings his critically acclaimed show “Greg London’s ICONS – Entertaining the World One Impression at a Time” to The Riviera Hotel and Casino, located on The Strip at 2901 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Produced by Bob Byers, Jr., David DeLorenzo and Frank Visco, “Greg London’s ICONS,” which was also voted Best Show in Northern Nevada in the same Nevada Magazine poll, will begin previews in the Mardi Gras Showroom on Wednesday, June 16, with the Grand Opening set for mid-July. Showtimes will be 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices are $39.99, $59.99 (preferred seating) and $69.99 (VIP). All prices are base plus tax and fee. For more information, call The Riviera Box Office toll free at (877) 892-7469 or visit www.rivierahotel.com.

Thankful for what they do, London says, the first 100 active members of the military, police, firefighters and first responders will be admitted free to each show through July with proper ID showing their active service presented at the Riviera box office.

Greg London will grace the stage at the same world famous venue where numerous superstars and Las Vegas legends have performed such as Louis Armstrong, The Beach Boys, Tony Bennett, Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Engelbert Humperdink, Liberace, Barry Manilow, Dean Martin, Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton, Luciano Pavarotti, Kenny Rogers, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, The Supremes and The Temptations, some of who London impersonates in his show.

Among the “ICONS” that are part of London’s fascinating repertoire are Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, Tina Turner , Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, Jr., Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Macy Gray , Tony Bennett, David Cassidy, Dean Martin, David Ruffin and Eddie Kendricks of The Temptations, Smokey Robinson, Freddie Mercury/Queen, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Joe Cocker, Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Jim Morrison of the Doors, ZZ Top, David Bowie, Axl Rose, Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, Robin Gibb of The Bee Gees, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Garth Brooks, Randy Travis, Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Julio Iglesias, Tom Jones, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ozzy Osbourne, Kermit The Frog, James Bond (Sean Connery version), Austin Powers and the “Phantom of the Opera.”

Fresh off his win for “Best Adult Contemporary Song” at the 2009 Hollywood Music In Media Awards (HMMA), London has been selected to co-host the third annual event at The Highlands in the Hollywood & Highland Kodak Theatre Complex on November 18, 2010. The singer’s recording of “Everything I Own” was the highest charting new artist release and highest charting release on an independent label (airplay charts) of 2009. London scored back to back Top 5 singles on the FMQB Adult Contemporary Radio Chart. London also made Music Connection Magazine’s list of Hot 100 Artists of 2009.

In 2008, he appeared in the independent film “The Dukes,” playing a member of a washed up doo-wop group that turns, comically, to a life of crime. His cohorts are Chazz Palmenteri, two time Academy Award nominee Peter Bogdanovich and renowned character actor Robert Davi (“Die Hard,” “Profiler”), who wrote, directed and co-produced the film.

London, who launched his live musical comedy performance career in various venues at the Pebble Beach resort, even made Clint Eastwood’s day. Dirty Harry himself says of this million dollar baby, “Greg will leave you emotionally charged with a truly great performance.”

Menopause The Musical Performed its 1,000th Show on Sunday

Annette Verdolino, Cheryl Spencer, Paige O'Hara, Susan Beaubian

Menopause The Musical® is credited for nine million fans that have seen the spectacular 90 minute production in 11 countries. This hilarious hit is sweeping the nation from coast- to-coast and internationally.

Laura Lee O'Connell, Vita Corimbi, Cherie Price, Skye Miles

This year, the show will take its message to nearly 50 cities throughout the world. Menopause The Musical® in Las Vegas at the Las Vegas Hilton commemorated its 1,000th show Sunday January 13, 2008.

Steve Tuminello, Loretta St. John and Sandra Benton

Menopause The Musical® is “a collection of 25 baby boomer songs re-lyricized to tout everything from night sweats, hot flashes and mood swings, to food binges, memory loss and wrinkles” says writer/producer Jeanie Linders. The cast consist of four characters who meet fighting over a black lace bra at a New York City Bloomingdale’s lingerie sale who are experiencing The Change. Menopause The Musical® intended message is that menopause is a passage, but it should no longer  be The Silent Passage.

Sandra Benton and Skye Dee Miles

“In retrospect,” says Writer/Producer Jeanie Linders, “the characters as a whole are a compilation of my personality, or any woman who was a post-World War II baby, for that matter. Each of us has a part of our personality that is ‘glam’ or striving for success, or dedicated to making our physical world a better place, or to being a loving mate. I think that is one of the reasons the women in the audience so readily identify with the characters. Seeing them ‘suffer’ the woes of menopause only brings the experience closer to home.”

Ann Verdolino and Laura Lee O'Connell

Such camaraderie is evident through the many letters and e-mails TOC Productions, Inc., receives on a weekly basis. “I saw your show and haven’t stopped singing the songs! It was more than just the fantastic music parodies – the women on stage were like me, the ladies in the audience were like me; I felt I wasn’t alone.” “I think all doctors should see this!” says an enthusiastic fan. She also claims the show “made me feel a thousand times better!”

Cherie Price and Lori-Legacy Hunt

Linders says, “This has become a point of relating, an event, a celebration of a life passage that launches women into an exciting new phase of their lives. Most women know intuitively every other woman is experiencing the memory loss or night sweats or hot flashes.  But, when they’re in a theatre with hundreds women, and they’re all shouting ‘that’s me!;’ then they know what they are experiencing is normal. They aren’t crazy; they call it a ‘sisterhood.’”

Paige O'Hara and Cheryl Spencer

“The show’s appeal transcends all socio-economic, cultural and age lines”, according to Linders. “Whether the women are draped in pearls or plastic beads, they all laugh the same way. The show – as with menopause itself – knows no boundaries,” she said.

Susan Beaubian and Vita Corimbi

One fan writes to the production’s Web site... www.menopausethemusical.com

“I have a confession. I’m a Menopause The Musical® junkie...  Even my husband’s interest was piqued when I told him about the songs. He went and agreed it was the best  show!”
